## ACMI, Aircraft Leasing and Business Aviation Update

This week's aviation developments include ACMI fleet adjustments, new widebody capacity, interim airline financing, additional A220 leasing activity, a major FBO investment, new Global 8000 management business and further consolidation in aviation software.

Below are the transactions and operating developments worth following as of September 7, 2026\.

ACMI

## Avia Solutions Group Plans Further Fleet Reduction

Avia Solutions Group is planning further fleet reductions during the second half of 2026 as parts of the ACMI market face softer demand. [Aviation Week ](https://aviationweek.com/term/acmi-leasing?ref=acmiworld.com)has been following the group's ACMI fleet strategy.

Fleet reduction does not necessarily imply weak ACMI demand across the market. Narrowbody summer capacity, long-haul wet lease, AOG replacement and regional flying operate under different utilization and pricing conditions.

For ACMI operators, the immediate issue is aircraft utilization outside peak periods. Aircraft that cannot be placed into counter-seasonal markets still carry crew, maintenance, financing and positioning costs.

Widebody ACMI

## euroAtlantic Adds an Airbus A330-300

Portuguese ACMI and charter operator euroAtlantic Airways is adding an Airbus A330-300 leased from Jackson Square Aviation. [The aircraft is configured with 290 seats ](https://finance.yahoo.com/markets/stocks/articles/euroatlantic-airways-expands-long-haul-070000222.html?ref=acmiworld.com)and expands the carrier's long-haul capacity.

The transaction is useful context for the wider ACMI market. Operators can reduce less productive aircraft while continuing to add capacity where the aircraft type, route economics and customer contracts support the deployment.

Airline Finance

## airBaltic Secures Commitments for Up to €257 Million

airBaltic has agreed terms for up to €257 million of interim financing from existing bondholders and third-party finance providers. [The proposed financing ](https://aviator.aero/press/airbaltic-secures-commitments-for-up-to-257-million-of-interim-financing?ref=acmiworld.com)forms part of the airline's revised business plan.

Approximately €180 million is expected to become available following bondholder approval, with a further €77 million subject to additional conditions. The new bonds are due to mature on February 26, 2027\.

[Aviation Week reports ](https://aviationweek.com/air-transport/airlines-lessors/airbaltic-agrees-interim-financing-bondholders?ref=acmiworld.com)that the financing is being implemented alongside a smaller fleet plan and lower growth assumptions.

For lessors, lenders and ACMI counterparties, liquidity remains part of the capacity analysis. Lease rentals, maintenance reserves, deposits, crew costs and working capital have to be funded even when the underlying aircraft is commercially attractive.

Aircraft Leasing

## Jackson Square Delivers an A220-300 to Breeze

Jackson Square Aviation has delivered the first of two Airbus A220-300 aircraft to Breeze Airways. [The second aircraft is expected in October ](https://airpronews.com/2026/09/07/jackson-square-aviation-delivers-a220-300-to-breeze-airways/?ref=acmiworld.com).

The A220 remains relevant to airlines looking for capacity below conventional A320 or 737 gauge while retaining jet range and passenger product.

Regional aircraft demand also remains firm. [Azorra told Reuters ](https://www.reuters.com/business/aircraft-lessor-azorra-sees-engine-issues-improving-strong-demand-regional-jets-2026-09-03/?ref=acmiworld.com)that demand for regional jets remains strong and that some Pratt & Whitney engine-related disruption is improving.

The leasing case for aircraft such as the A220 and Embraer E2 continues to depend on the same fundamentals: operator credit, lease rate, maintenance exposure, engine support and secondary-market liquidity.

Business Aviation

## Bombardier Faces New U.S. Trade Uncertainty

U.S. President Donald Trump said Bombardier should not be allowed to sell aircraft in the United States unless it builds them there. [Reuters reported the comments on September 7 ](https://www.reuters.com/business/aerospace-defense/trump-says-canadas-bombardier-cannot-sell-us-unless-it-builds-there-2026-09-07/?ref=acmiworld.com).

The United States is a major market for Bombardier Challenger and Global aircraft. For now, the statement should be treated as a policy development rather than an implemented prohibition.

Aircraft buyers, financiers and brokers will be watching for any formal customs, certification or trade measures that could affect deliveries, values or transaction timing.

FBO Infrastructure

## Atlantic Aviation Valued at Nearly $10 Billion

Apollo-managed funds have acquired a significant interest in Atlantic Aviation, with KKR remaining a major shareholder. [Apollo says the transaction values Atlantic Aviation at nearly $10 billion ](https://ir.apollo.com/news-events/press-releases/detail/643/apollo-funds-and-kkr-announce-strategic-partnership-to?ref=acmiworld.com).

Atlantic operates a large U.S. FBO network providing fuel, hangar space and ground services at business aviation airports.

FBO portfolios have several characteristics that appeal to infrastructure investors: scarce airport access, recurring fuel demand, long-lived facilities and constrained hangar capacity at major business aviation airports.

Aircraft Management

## Comlux Adds a Second Global 8000

[Comlux Aviation has added a second Bombardier Global 8000 ](https://comlux.com/comlux-aviation-adds-second-bombardier-global-8000-to-its-fleet-of-managed-aircraft/?ref=acmiworld.com)to its managed fleet, five months after adding its first example.

Both aircraft and engines are enrolled in manufacturer maintenance programs.

New aircraft types place additional demands on the management company. Maintenance forecasting, crew qualification, dispatch support, warranty administration and operational data all have to be established while the in-service fleet remains relatively small.

Aviation Software

## Veryon Acquires Polaris Aero

[Veryon has acquired Polaris Aero ](https://veryon.com/press-media/veryon-acquires-polaris-aero?ref=acmiworld.com), adding aviation safety-management products including VOCUS SMS, FlightRisk and GroundRisk.

Veryon says the acquisition adds more than 200 customers and combines safety-reporting data with its existing maintenance and technical datasets.

The acquisition expands Veryon beyond maintenance tracking into a broader aircraft operations and safety-data platform.

MRO

## FAI Technik Approved as Starlink Dealer and Installer

German EASA Part-145 maintenance organization FAI Technik has been appointed an authorized SpaceX Starlink dealer and installer for business aviation. [The company completed its first installation on a Global Express XRS ](https://www.businessairportinternational.com/news/mro/fai-technik-appointed-as-authorized-spacex-starlink-dealer-and-installer.html?ref=acmiworld.com).

Connectivity installations are becoming a larger aftermarket category for business jet MRO providers. The work combines avionics modification, certification, downtime management and ongoing equipment support.

This gives MRO providers another revenue stream beyond scheduled inspections and defect rectification.
